At the salon, the woman at the counter "flips her the middle finger" and Samantha has her hair done by a "goth chick". This could be a reference to Erin from Final Destination 3 who was a survivor who died.
Samantha was the third survivor to die. Her actress Krista Allen was the third billing in the opening credits.
Samantha shares the same name with Samantha Lane from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Both characters are the fourth to die (In the case of FD4's Samantha, the fourth named character to die), and both characters come from the fourth installment. (Which both movies were also originally titled as "the final in the series")
