The Route 23 log truck is the vehicle that causes the Route 23 pile-up. The truck was in use at the time, as it was seen transporting several logs.

Premonition

As it was driving along the highway, the chain supporting the logs snapped, causing the logs to fall from the flatbed and into traffic, causing a massive crash and the deaths of Thomas Burke, Eugene Dix, Rory Peters, Kat Jennings, Nora and Tim Carpenter, and several others. Trying to stop, the truck jackknifes as Evan Lewis crashes into the gas tank, causing a massive explosion that destroys the flatbed.

Real Life

After Kimberly Corman awakens from her vision and blocks the entrance to Route 23 with her SUV, she spots the log truck seconds before it spills its payload, and the massive pileup occurs. Even though Evan was not present, the same events from the premonition may have occurred with someone else.
