A photograph of Mr. Rivers and a young Clear.
Mr. Rivers is a mentioned character in Final Destination. The father of Clear Rivers, Mr. Rivers was close to his daughter; the two often went out to his cabin in the woods, including once in 1986, where they went fishing.
Death
Several years before the Volée Airlines Flight 180 explosion, Mr. Rivers, while buying cigarettes from a 7-11, was approached by someone, presumably a mugger, who demanded that he not turn around. Apparently, on reflex, or thinking someone was merely playing a joke, Mr. Rivers did turn around, and was shot in the head by his assailant.
Mr. Rivers' death deeply affected both his daughter and wife, whose lives subsequently degenerated. Clear would keep a picture of both her father and herself, taken one year at the cabin, in her room.
