No, it's over. Ian was going to cause your death, you intervened, and it skipped us. And until something happens to me and then Kevin, you've got nothing to worry about.

Julie attended the carnival for McKinley's senior grad night (despite being a sophomore) and boarded the Devil's Flight roller-coaster. Unbeknownst to her sister Wendy, she and Perry got on Devil's Flight. Before the ride starts, Wendy has a premonition that the ride will crash, killing everyone on board. A fight breaks out due to her panic, and several people including Julie leave the ride. Moments later, the ride crashes as Wendy predicted, killing the five remaining passengers on board.

Two weeks later, Julie and Wendy talked about their parents, while Wendy was looking at the photos from the grad night. Julie comforts Wendy about Jason and gives Wendy their grandmother's bracelet. Julie is later seen attending the funerals of Ashley Freund & Ashlyn Halperin. She is almost kissed by Frankie Cheeks, but she smacks him across the face.

Days later, Julie takes back the bracelet when Wendy falls asleep, wanting to impress some boys. This causes Wendy to realize that Julie was on the rollercoaster when looking back to the pictures one more time. During the tricentennial celebration, Kevin Fischer tracks down Julie and tries to protect her. Annoyed about his warnings, she flips him off as Wendy finally arrives. Suddenly, a horse comes out of nowhere and a rope attached to the horse wraps around Julie's neck, dragging her around the fair, and almost into a harrow. However, Kevin manages to save her when he cuts the rope with a sword at the last second.

Julie is then asked by Wendy about who was sitting next to her on the roller coaster, say that they're next. Wendy's question is immediately answered when Julie's friend Perry is suddenly impaled by a flagpole, covering her in blood. After Wendy saves Kevin from an exploding barbeque grill, Julie helps Wendy get Kevin to safety. However, Ian McKinley arrives at the Tricentennial and starts blaming Wendy for Erin Ulmer's death. During the standoff, a large container filled with fireworks go off in their direction, but they duck, and they hit the cherry picker behind Ian instead. As Ian shouts that Death cannot kill him, the cherry picker suddenly collapses and crushes him in half as Wendy, Julie, and Kevin watch in horror.

Death

Five months later, Julie is on a subway train due to not wanting to wait for her father to repair his car. She encounters Wendy and Kevin by coincidence. Suddenly, the train comes out of its track, throwing everyone to the ground. During the chaos, Julie is killed when one of the train wheels comes loose and smashes into her.

However, it is revealed to be only a premonition. A single tear drips from Wendy's eye as she processes what about to happen. Kevin askes Wendy what's wrong and quickly realizes that she just had another premonition. As Kevin pulls the emergency brakes in an attempt to stop the train. Julie and Wendy try to pull open the train door to escape before the screen cuts to black, followed by the sound of screeching metal.

Final Destination 3 - Julie's Death

Signs/Clues

Death's First Attempt

  • In Julie's photo, she flips off Wendy, just like how she flipped off Kevin out of annoyance before her death.
  • A white carousel horse could also be seen in the picture near her head, foreshowing the Tricentennial Horse.
  • There is a horse on Julie's charm bracelet, implicating the horse at the tricentennial that nearly killed her.
  • In Wendy's photo there seems to be a white aura around her neck implying how she would have died.

Death's Second Attempt

  • In the photo there is also a circular mirror, that looks like a wheel about to hit her head.
  • In the opening scene a merry-go-round's reflection is spinning out of control. This implies that her death was caused by something round spinning out of control.
  • The voice of the mortician from the first two movies played the conductor on the train.
  • A subway musician started singing "Turn Around, Look At Me," which was a recurring song in the movie.
  • In Wendy's photo, Jason's face was blurred. On the train, the people sped past Wendy, and all of their faces were blurry during the chaotic derailment.
  • While looking in the mirror, Wendy noticed the train's number. Backwards, it read 180.
  • Wendy several reminders of the deaths of the other Devil's Flight survivors.
    • Wendy saw a sign advertising the drive-through restaurant where Frankie died.
    • One of the men boarding the train was bald, and sported a white and red tattoo, with the tattoo on the left side of his head - which made him eerily look like Frankie Cheeks when he died.
    • Wendy saw a sign advertising the store where Erin died.
    • Wendy saw a sign advertising the tanning salon where Ashley and Ashlyn died.
    • On the train, there is a sign advertising 'Slushee: Totally Cool' the drink Ashley and Ashlyn were drinking.
    • Some people in the train were cheering for Bruins, the rival team of The Sultans, the football team that Lewis wanted to play for.
  • Wendy saw a sign stating, There is no escaping DEATH and taxes.
  • The train conductor menacingly stated, "The next stop is the end of the line."
  • Jason said, "I'll meet you at the end." before boarding the coaster and dying in the Devil's Flight derailment, presumably foreshadowing her death AT THE END of the movie, and her reunion with him.
  • When Wendy and Kevin went to the gym, and Wendy was looking around, Kevin and Lewis talked about the signs in the background. Kevin said something about two sisters who were killed when going to visit each other. Wendy and Julie talked about visiting each other, and they both died on the train.
  • On the train, there is a sign saying, "Today might be your lucky day".
  • In an alternate ending in the Choose Their Fate special feature, Wendy observed the train schedule, and noticed the last stop said END in bold, red letters.

Trivia

  • Her supposed death was very similar to Nadia Monroy's death in The Final Destination, as both were obliterated by a flying wheel.
  • Julie and Perry are the only survivors in the franchise who were not explicitly shown being in the premonition at the beginning. After Ian’s and Erin’s death, Julie and Perry from behind were seen falling in a quick second. Their presence was revealed much later in the movie.
  • She is the character with the most hairstyle changes which include long straight hairs with curly end and a hat, unknown hairstyle with a hood, with a bun, twin tail and long hair at the end.
  • Julie and Wendy are the first sibling survivors in the movie series, though not the only ones to be related.
  • In an alternate ending, the derailment happens, and Julie is whacked by the wheel and all the survivors die, and then the credits roll.
  • There is strong controversy about Wendy, Kevin, and Julie's deaths. There's a slight possibility that the train stopped after several attempts by Kevin, but this is highly doubtful. Not only that, but since it just so happens Julie's on the same train Wendy and Kevin are on, it would be a great opportunity for Death to finish up the list. Also, no one has managed to successfully cheat Death in any of the Final Destination films, so the fact that Julie didn't die would be baffling.
  • A strange fact about Kevin, Wendy, and Julie's deaths are that usually if at the end of the movie it is unknown whether the survivors lived or not, in the next movie, their fates are revealed. In the end of Final Destination, it is unknown whether Alex, Clear, and Carter survive but their fates are revealed in the next movie. The same goes for the fate of Kimberly and Officer Burke in Final Destination 2. Their fates are revealed in Final Destination 3 in a newspaper article in Choose Their Fate. Yet, Wendy, Kevin, and Julie's deaths aren't mentioned in The Final Destination, but producer Craig Perry had said he believes they are dead many times via different sites.
  • Wendy, Kevin and Julie survive in the novelization of Final Destination 3. However, it should be noted that this may be due to the fact that the novel ends before the train derailment from the movie occurs.
  • Vanessa Hudgens audition for the role of Julie.
  • Amanda Crew originally auditioned for Erin and Alexz Johnson originally auditioned for Julie, but the actresses ended up switching parts.
